Separation of stores from protected placesAll package stores of corrosive substances shall be separated from protected places by not less than the distances set out in Table 5.3.2. (See table: 5 m for PG II) |
Segregation of corrosive substancesStores of packaged corrosive substances, other than storage cabinets, shall be segregated from incompatible goods and goods with which they might react dangerously in accordance with the following: (a) Where the substances being kept are incompatible, they shall be —
(b) Stores shall be provided with a means of either containing a spill or of diverting it to a compound within the boundaries of the premises. The net capacity of any compound shall be not less than whichever is the greater of — (i) 25 % of the aggregate volume of liquids kept; or (ii) the capacity of the largest container kept; but need not exceed 5,000 L where only packages are kept. |
