Signage and Registration
Regulated Chemical Storage Volumes
Smaller storage volumes are called Placard Quantities and require specified signage indicating each class of stored chemicals.
Larger storage volumes are called Manifest Quantities and require a list of stored chemicals and quantities to be stored in a red Emergency Information box at the entrance to the premises.
If the facility stores manifest quantities of any class of chemicals, the facility must be inspected and approved by the local fire rescue authority (or alternative regulatory authority in each State/Territory).
