The firewater runoff, mixed with paints, solvents and chemicals flowed into the Eumemmering Creek, Patterson River and out to the bay at Carrum. EPA Victoria advised to avoid swimming at Carrum and Bonbeach beaches due to toxic runoff from the incident.
